About Salem Talks Science

About Salem Talks Science Owners

Salem Talks Science co-founders Dylan and Taylor McDowell

Salem Talks Science was created to foster community learning and community engagement. We believe Salem has incredible local researchers, scientists, and other experts and we want to highlight those individuals through fun events alongside good food and drinks. We are a husband and wife duo that has previously lived in other cities with science pubs, and wanted to bring something similar to Salem. Our goal is to make our events fun for attendees of all ages and all knowledge levels. We hope you’ll join us at one of our events and come learn with us! This effort is initially funded by the Gilman Changemaker Grant, which has generously allowed us to purchase equipment and cover other costs to make this a free event for the community.

You can read more about our origins in this great Salem Reporter article.
