The Big Bang and Beyond: A Beginner’s Guide to the Universe

This event took attendees into the cosmos with a guided tour by Willamette University Professor Rick Watkins. Rick is a physicist/cosmologist who studies large scale motions of galaxies, and his talk oriented listeners to the layout of the universe and posed big questions about space, time, and the very longevity of the universe we live in!

Rick received his PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1989 and has held positions at the University of Chicago, the University of Michigan, Dartmouth College, and Reed College. He has taught at Willamette University for over twenty five years.
